Being a working mom can be challenging, but with the right strategies, it is possible to find a balance between work life and mom life. Here are some tips I used to help me achieve that balance:

  • set work hours and keep them
  • Automate anything you can
  • create a routine that works for you (i’m a night owl)
  • maximize your time -

Prioritize and set boundaries

Clearly define your priorities and set boundaries between work and family time. Identify the most important tasks both at work and at home and focus on those. Learn to say no to non-essential commitments. Set working times - I do Monday, Wednesday & Thursdays. Turn off notifications.

Plan and organize

Use calendars, planners, and to-do lists to stay organized. Plan your work tasks and family activities in advance to ensure you have dedicated time for both. Delegate household chores and involve your partner and children in managing the household responsibilities. Shooting one day on a weekend not both!

Create a support system

Surround yourself with a strong support system, including family, friends, and other working moms. Lean on them for help and advice when needed. Consider joining support groups or online communities where you can connect with other working moms facing similar challenges. Go to my moms house twice a month to batch edit.

Practice self-care

Remember to take care of yourself. Prioritize self-care activities such as exercise, proper nutrition, and sufficient sleep. Make time for hobbies and activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Taking care of yourself will help you stay energized and better equipped to handle the demands of work and motherhood.

Communicate with your employer

Openly communicate with your employer about your responsibilities as a working mom. Discuss flexible work options, such as remote work or flexible hours, if feasible. Advocate for your needs and find ways to create a supportive work environment that understands the demands of motherhood.

Be flexible
